Weekly Car Care Tip: Scrape off those annoying stickers!

While all of your national and state park stickers may call to mind great memories, they can be a visual hazard as they accumulate. The high-quality stickers will pull off if you can get under a corner and carefully pull them free at a 90-degree angle. Others will leave a gummy residue and require a bit more attention. Cover your dash with an old towel and dab on Goo Gone. Then scrape and wipe it off.

Car Care Tip of the Week: Use Your Headrest!

Before you hit the road, sit up straight, raise your head as high as you can, and press it into the headrest. Hold it there for five seconds, then relax and repeat five times. This will improve your posture and put muscles like your multifidus to work to keep your spine erect. This, in turn, will reduce the strain on your neck.

The Volvo Kangaroo Brake System Will Save Lives

Volvo, the Swedish automotive company is in works to devise a brake system that can predict when a kangaroo will jump out in front of your car. The concept may seem far-fetched for those of us who do not live in a kangaroo-dominated country, however the same premise will apply to bicycles, moose and deer as well.

This brake system will use camera-based technology (in the windshield) and radar to help determine if there is a kangaroo that will run the risk of jumping out in front of your vehicle. If the driver is unable to react and stop the car, the brake system will do that automatically. This system will not only help to save the lives of animals crossing the road, it will also help to save the humans who are driving the vehicle.

Car Care Tip of the Week!

Some stations with older fuel tanks may be contaminated making your vehicle susceptible to dirty gasoline. Ask whether the gas you buy is filtered at the pump and if the station has a policy about changing the pump filters regularly.
